Presenters
Dr. Krissi Hewitt
is currently Regional Education Partnership Policy Advisor in the Oregon Chief Education Office. She directs the agency’s STEM Hubs and Regional Achievement Collaboratives. Krissi has over 10 years of experience in STEM education transformation and research with a specialization in post-secondary education. Krissi earned her PhD in Science Education from Oregon State University, Master’s in Microbiology from San Diego State University, and her Bachelor’s in Biology from the University of California, San Diego.
Jarred Corwin
is the State Science Specialist at the Indiana Department of Education. His goals are to assist educators across the state to implement science standards, be learner centered, incorporate STEM, and provide a quality science experience to all Hoosier students. He previously taught Biology, Integrated Chemistry and Physics, and Chemistry and was a Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellow. Before entering the field of education Jarred worked for private industry. He earned his Bachelor’s in Chemistry from Ball State University and obtained a Master’s in Teaching from the University of Indianapolis.
