States also commonly bring key stakeholders together to create deep, multi-year strategic plans for STEM. Below, we've shared three sample state STEM plans.

    Created by the Governor’s Advisory Council for Excellence in STEM (ACES), this document provides a roadmap for a “coordinated STEM education network providing the workforce pipeline essential to the future of Alabama’s economy”.  This resource is excellent for states who are at the beginning of creating state-wide supports for STEM. - Download here

STEM/STEAM School Designation Models and Rubrics

Many states offer a pathway in law for the designation of schools as a "STEM schools" or "STEAM schools." Across states, the rules and reference materials vary significantly. On a close reading, however, many similar themes emerge. Below, the STEMx network has collected links to the policies and procedures for STEM designation across three states. Building off the knowledge of our members, we're glad to share this collection with advocates and researchers.
